My own setup has been Philo (grandfathered at the old $20 price) for most of that time and am just now switching to Frndly with a Discovery+ account to pick up those channels which I'm "losing" by switching. I haven't had traditional cable in 3 years and I don't miss that giant bill one bit. And depending on your location you may well be able to get the broadcast channels via digital antenna. ![]() Only catch is they don't do the basic "broadcast" networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox) or sports networks, but IF she happens to mainly watch cable networks, they are fantastic. So after a couple of evenings of fiddling around, I plugged in the R-pi, only to discover that the Universe hates me. It supported the streaming services I wanted and could play my local media. Since i had a spare Raspberry Pi, I figured I would build a Kodi media streamer. Our CATV provider has been pushing us to drop our TV package, I've been complaining about the price, but my wife has been giving a lot of pushback.
